Just in time for summer, Chaz French shares a slick music video for his latest single “Handful” [feat. Rich The Kid] today.

Under the cover of palm trees and Miami sunshine, Chaz raps poolside flanked by a gorgeous bikini-clad women intercut alongside colorful kaleidoscopic animation and underscored with Yung Lan’s guitar-driven beat. As Chaz delivers the braggadocious bars on top of a mirrored floor, Rich The Kid makes a cameo of his own before the party moves to the club for the final scenes. The visual harks back to the best and brightest turn-of-the-century summer bangers and stands poised to soundtrack the season.

Approaching 500,000 streams, “Handful” received acclaim straight out of the gate. HotNewHipHop praised how, “The trap soul-like track invites listeners to head-bop and vibe immediately–thanks to Chaz French’s smooth vocals,” and Respect. proclaimed it, “perfect for the warmer weather.”

The single arrived hot on the heels of last year’s “Caliente” [feat. IDK & Jay 305]. Complex extolled it by writing, “Atop the production all three rappers show their worth, making for a compelling trio, so hopefully they show up together somewhere else in the future. It’s clear this is the start of a new era for Chaz French, and it’s certainly a sound that works well for him.”

Chaz French has been on a hot streak since 2018’s “Can’t Stop Us.” Not only did the song earn acclaim from XXL, Respect, and more, but it also fueled the trailer for Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse—which has racked up over 30 million views to date.

With lyrical dexterity on point and a knack for a hook, Chaz French has quietly paved his own lane in hip-hop. 2015’s These Things Take Time mixtape yielded a viral smash in the form of “Ready,” while his 2017 major label debut True Colors earned tastemaker and fan applause. The latter boasts collaborations with everyone from Curren$y to BJ The Chicago Kid. Along the way, he received acclaim from Time, High Snobiety, Paper, Noisey, XXL, and more.
