“MB4Everything”: How Hurt Season Learned to Prioritize His Own Happiness

Amidst the clutter and chaos of the modern music scene, in which so many artists are screaming so loudly to try and be heard, the young twenty-two-year-old Hurt Season cut through it all like a knife through butter. With music so vibrant, so unique, and so satisfying that he earned himself a personal sit down with one of the most legendary music producers of the era, Hurt Season hit it big before some personal struggles ultimately threatened to take it all away. Now reformed and more ready than ever before, Hurt Season has returned to the limelight with a new name, a new sound, and his most accomplished collection of work so far with MB4Everything, his sophomore mixtape.

Formerly known and branded as HRT SZN, the multi-talented artist was able to catch the ear of the iconic and highly successful producer David Foster at a young age. Foster said he heard something unique and passionate in the artist’s music and ultimately decided to sign Hurt Season. Snoop Dogg himself decided to co-sign Hurt Season as well after Foster sent some of the artist’s music to the legendary Hip Hop mogul.

For a moment, it seemed as though all of Hurt Season’s hopes and dreams were being realized as if by a miracle. However, as detailed extensively in the media, including his Rolling Stone profile, this early infatuation with success brought a great many challenges. Having dreamt of this exact moment for so long and worked so hard to make it a reality, Hurt Season found himself struggling with keeping his head straight and remaining present, and as such, was overcome by old addictions that brought him momentary joy but long-term suffering.

In the interim, between his debut mixtape and his sophomore effort, Hurt Season has gotten cleaned up and has trained his mind, body, and spirit, all of which has helped him to hone in on the greatest work of his career. To Hurst Season, MB4Everything is so much more than just a title; it is a life mantra that he has taken to heart. Through prioritizing himself and realizing that regardless of his success, he ultimately needs to seek out creating music that makes him happy. Hurt Season has found an entirely new way to approach his craft and art.

Artists inspiring Hurt Season’s new work as vast and varied as Santana, XXXTentacion, 7981 Kal, and Pierce the Veil, blending genres such as rock, emo, rap, and hip-hop into a sound that is distinctly his own. Whereas the pressures of signing to a major label ultimately brought such extreme anxieties with them, MB4Everything is being released independently through Marble Bust Entertainment, Hurt Season’s own label.

With singles like “datreesh” and “darkstar” already resonating with fans across the globe, MB4Everything is primed to bring an entirely different side of Hurt Season to audiences everywhere. Through persevering through the trials and tribulations of fame and excess and ultimately coming out the other side a more open, creative, and authentic artist, Hurt Season is finding success on his own terms with MB4Everything.
