About Skip Waiters:
“Growing up, music that resonated with me the most were the songs that made me feel something… Good or bad, it evoked an emotion in me that reminded me I was still alive and I think that is something that’s needed in a world that’s prone to numbness.”
Born in Toronto and raised in Brampton, Skip Waiters discovered his passion for music through his experiences in the inner city. Self-taught in production and songwriting, Waiters blends visual arts and storytelling into his music. His style draws comparisons to Kendrick Lamar, J.I.D, Anderson .Paak, and Tyler the Creator.

His mixtape Personal Stereo (2021) earned significant attention, supported by playlists and accolades from major outlets like Rolling Stone. Follow-up EPs in 2022, exploring themes of mental health and identity, have garnered over 500,000 streams and praise from Complex and Hip-Hop Canada.

In 2023, Waiters’ debut album, Streams of Consciousness, surpassed 1.1 million streams and highlighted therapy’s importance for Black Canadians. His upcoming album, THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE (T.H.E), continues his exploration of self-identity and the Black family nucleus.
