MTV Names FLETCHER as Global PUSH Artist for the Month of March
MTV PUSH has named popstar FLETCHER as the feature Global PUSH Artist for the month of March. Following numerous chart-topping singles and the release of her 2020 EP THE S(EX) TAPES, FLETCHER continues to grow in her artistry. Her debut album, Girl of My Dreams, taps into FLETCHER’s most vulnerable emotional experiences, with each song exploring a different emotion through her compelling, raw, and authentic storytelling. FLETCHER joins MTV to discuss her musical inspirations, her vulnerability, and how music allowed her to express different parts of herself.

On collaborating with Kelsea Ballerini for “Better Version”:
- “…Kelsea and I met each other at a time when we were both in a big period of transition in our lives and there was just so much that we connected on. I knew from the beginning that it was a song that she really, really loved and I was like, “I would be so honored if you put your version – make it the better version.” And she just brought the song to life in a way that was so amazing and it’s such an honor to work with such a talented individual who is also just really close to me.”
On the virality of her hit single, “Becky’s So Hot”
- “I didn’t necessarily know that it was going to cause such a scene… I think when you are being that honest about anything, it’s obviously going to start a conversation… a lot of people were like, “this is too much to say. It’s too honest” and I’m just like, “what is the range of too much emotion?” …This was an honest feeling that I had and it was part of my catharsis. It was a part of my process. It was a part of my moving on to just be like, “yeah – my ex’s new girlfriend is hot.” It’s not that deep – I’m not trying to steal anyone’s girlfriend, it’s just like, “you look better in the t-shirt than I did.”Then it broke lesbian Tik-Tok and people were blaming me for – the “FLETCHER” effect. The “Becky” effect. Like there were all these things that were happening and I was like oh, this is a lot. But, listen, we gotta make waves.”
