Live Session with Muti-Dimensional Creative Sandflower: The Quantum Seed

In this Live Session, I speak with the amazing Sandflower, a multi-faceted creative whose full-length project, “The Quantum Seed,” is a total ride-through, I mean NO SKIPS, period. Sandflower’s music and visual art have previously been featured in Vogue Italia, Paper Magazine, The New York Times, Fader, and The London Times. The interview rapidly turned into a conversation, and honestly, it’s one of the best hours I’ve spent editorially and personally this year, with the flow covering not only her current project, which dropped July 29th via Arena One, a collaborative venture with her producer David Sisko, but we also dove into her personal and professional journies.

First, the music!

The Quantum Seed is a full-service project that includes electro-pop-rock, punk-rap, synthwave-dubstep, and the heart and soul of an artist who will not be put in a box. It’s an honest look into the world of Sandflower as she shares her diverse artistic inspirations molded into a sound that is uniquely hers but welcomes the listener to bring their own views and experiences as they lose themselves in the magic she and her cohort celebrated producer David Sisko have created. For me, it’s a project that can be put on repeat in its entirety and elevate my day from the mundane to exciting with the perfect mix of mid and uptempo music beds that make my fingers fly. I’m a particular fan of the dubstep-tinged joints!

I’d love to give you a visual with my words, but I think it’s better for you to experience the ride yourself, so check out the album below! The Quantum Seed is the perfect mix to get lost in your mental space and meet yourself again.

The conversation

I’ve often said there is no greater compliment than when an interview turns into a conversation. The transformation happened with Sandflower so smoothly that I didn’t catch it until we were about 30 minutes into an exchange that lasted a bit over an hour. Of course, we talked about the project, what inspired her to get serious about getting things off her chest, and how her experience as a visual artist translated into this fire azz piece of art that sent me reeling. More than that, we had some fun and even talked about the fact that she hasn’t eaten meat or fish since she was a child…being a meatatarian myself, I had questions!!! Fun fact…Sandflower is the VP of Sprayground, one of the most impactful and sought-after brands of street fashion in the world…let that one sink in!

I love her description on Twitter: Singer. Songwriter. Actress. Electro-Magnetic Wild Cat. Digital Hippie Bad Ass, and perhaps that is why we got on so well…I’m going to stop typing now and just invite you to tune in!!!

Keep up with all things Sandflower and enjoy the visual version of the album as well.
