Scarface Releases New Song And Announces “Icon Tour” In Support Of Latest Project “Deeply Rooted”

Southern Hip-Hop legend Scarface is set to take his critically-acclaimed 12th studio album, Deeply Rooted, on the road, bringing material from his 2015 release to fans across the country starting Thursday, February 11th. The “Icon Tour” will kick off in Tulsa, OK and will run through 38 cities, wrapping up in the rapper’s hometown of Houston, TX on Friday, April 1st. (Full tour dates below). Along with the announcement of the tour, Scarface blessed fans with a brand new single, “Keep It Movin'” featuring Avant, currently streaming on Soundcloud.

Following a seven-year hiatus, Scarface made a triumphant return to music last summer, with Deeply Rooted debuting on five charts. Upon its release, the CD was a Top 20-selling CD in the country debuting at the #11 position on the “Billboard 200.” “There’s no need for Deeply Rooted to make up for seven years of lost time because Scarface’s legacy is secure,” said Brandon Caldwell of the Houston Press upon the project’s release. “But my God does it feel epic at every turn.” It was the Top 10-selling digital release in the country landing at the #10 position on Billboard’s “Digital Albums” chart. The CD also graced Top 5 positions on Billboard’s “Independent Albums (#3),” “Rap Albums” (#2) and the “Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums” charts (#3).

“Scarface has always been one of Hip-Hop’s best songwriters and most thought-provoking rappers,” said AllHipHop.com of the project, “and this collection of music continues that tradition.” “Keep It Movin'” stands as a perfect example, finding Scarface addressing both sides of his own infidelity and the two resulting breakups. The song follows “Mental Exorcism,” “Steer” and “Do What I Do” as the fourth single from Deeply Rooted.
