Who is Cee Rock "The Fury"?

Tell me about Cee Rock "The Fury"?

CEE-ROCK "THE FURY" is a tru Q-Sector kat (born and raised in Queens, NY). He's a Emcee, Writer, Producer, Deejay, Radio Host, International Networker and Entertainer. He's a fan of music as a collective but especially Real Hip-Hop. He's a traveler who has gone across the globe to perform for various people and cultures. He's very down to earth yet out of this world.

Who are your musical influences and why?

The pioneers of Hip-Hop/Soul/Funk/RnB are the ones who influenced me. 70-90s music was so real to me. Keep in mind, the singers didn't have all the studio equipment enhancement apps like we have today. You really had to be a singer or musician back there. You had to be 'live and direct'. There was no 'autotune' or enhanced voice effects to hide behind. What you heard was what you heard and it was incredible. People like Marvin Gaye, Isaac Hayes, Isley Brothes, Brothers Johnson, Patti LaBelle, Deniece Williams, Patricia Rushen, Minnie Ripperton, Jackson 5, Doobie Brothers, Average White Band, James Brown, Otis Redding, Ohio Players (R.I.P. Sugarfoot), Rick James, Witney Houston and New Edition were just a few that contributed to my musical essence. I'm even a fan of Classical music as well as Jazz.

What prompted you to venture into hip-hop?

It simply was meant to be. Hearing music at an early age from Sugar Hill Records, Cold Chillin', Sleeping Bag Records and Def Jam all the time just consumed my interest. I was always a good writer, even in my public school days. Putting words together was never a problem for me. Hip-Hop had a life of its own and the influence it had on me was undeniable.

You have been on MTV, the Apollo Theater and even featured in the Nas’ video ‘Hate Me Now’, whats next?

What's next is droppin' my 2nd solo album which is entitled FURYOSITY KILLZ THE KAT. I already have singles out from that which can be purchased on iTunes, eMusic, Amazon and most worldwide digital outlets. I encourage all true listeners of Hip-Hop to go get my music because it is something that is rarely heard these days......lyricism, production, content and quality. I also hope to go back overseas and do some more touring soon...this time to territories I have not yet ventured into yet (such as Australia, Netherlands, Chile, Japan, Italy, France and Czech Republic). So all you promoters and booking agencies in those territories....do not hesitate to contact me so we can do some business.

What album are you currently pushing?

I'm pushing my FURYOSITY KILLZ THE KAT album (as I've already stated). I'm also be pushin' my debut album still to this day which is entitled BRINGIN' DA' YOWZAH!!!. It is considered by many to be a Hip-Hop classic. I wouldn't want you to say that I'm just saying that so please go get the BDY!!! album for yourself and give it a listen from beginning to end. You all can then let me know if it is a classic or not by hittin' me up at "www.facebook.com/ceerockthefury" or at "www.twitter.com/ceerockthefury". Your feedback and comments are welcomed.

In addition, I have a group album planning to drop soon called 3 DYFFERENT ANGLEZ by the group collectively known as 3DA. The group 3DA consists of myself and Brooklyn natives TAH PHRUM DUH BUSH and COOLE HIGH. We are three incredible emcees who sound nothing alike (hence the name and title). We have nothing yet everything in common (I hope that makes sense to everyone).

I also have my own label imprint, !HANDZUP! NETWORK. The majority of my material will be released under that imprint so keep that in your memory banks. I will be releasing a ton of material and have a nice roster of people already. Keep an eye/ear out for: BLACK JEWELZ (aka J-ROCK DA LYRIKILL TERRAH), NUGGET THE PHANTOM, REGGIE REG (of legendary 'CRASH CREW'), CHILL ROB G (of legendary 'FLAVOR UNIT'), PEDIGREE CHUMPS, MR. CRF, DON JAZZ, GHOSTS OF BLACKOUT, $TEALTHGUHN (aka SELF-ONE), ADS, KACY HODGE, MIKEY DESTRUCTION (of 'MAIN SOURCE'), TOBIJAH, ZADE ONE (aka SADE ONE), D-KARATS (aka DOC ICE of legendary 'UTFO/WHODINI'), L.O.V.E. (LEADER OF VERBAL EFFECTS), RED VENOM and others. Most of these artists already have singles out already under my imprint, including myself.

What do you think of today's musical trends?

95% of the music out now is lazy, wack, redundant and overly-ignorant. Being an "emcee" means something to us 'real emcees' so when we hear garbage on the radio that reaches the top of the charts, we find it as a slap in the face to the art and culture. Nowadays it's all about sex, drugs, lies, crime and death. It's all played out to me and flat out corny! Don't get me wrong...every artist that puts in that work and earn their spot deserves to be there (keyword: earn). However, we know the majority today have "unusual/unauthorized shortcuts" (I don't need to elaborate). There was was a time when lyricism and talent meant something. Now it's all a 3-ring circus with a  'Jerry Springer-ish' environment. True talent is no longer a factor (just ask 'Honey Boo Boo') and other entities of that nature in various categories. I'm on a mission to bring it back to the essence and I don't care if everyone is on board or not. This mission is strictly from the heart and for the art!

Is there anything I forgot to mention?

I think you covered your questions well and I wanna thank you for the opportunity to be interviewed. I think this interview was madd 'HYPE', don't you?

If I may, I wanna give a shoutout to RUN-X (RUNE NEXMAN), DJ VIC NYCE, B-FLAT (aka TOMMY ILL - rest in peace), DAGGA LAYNE, TIMID, SPONGEBOB LIVER, LUV CHYLD (my brother), DNA, URBAN HUSTLAZ, CUT SUPREME, RED VENOM, TASHIA TAZ, DJ PRESSURE, TONY SPIN, NOLRAM, KIDD TRAV (my nephew), CHUCK D, DAVY DMX, MC GLOBE, DONALD-D, PUBLIC ENEMY and the whole ANDERSON family.

Last but not least, HYPE wants to know...What's your CRAZIEST "Where they do that at?!" moment.

I was watchin' some show on television one day and I saw a large sheet of steel being cut with a 'water laser jet'. Now that bugged me out! It was a clean cut too. I was like "Where they do that at?" because I think that would be a very cool thing to see in person. Now I understand why my 'liquid aquatic flow' be cuttin' catz up. It all makes sense now (lol).
