Who is Daddy BeBop? #OfficialHype

As you see your self, who is Daddy BeBop?

Daddy BeBop is a space travelling Rocket-man. He has been travelling through space and time for
centuries bringing music and goodwill to all creatures.

Tell us about your current project?

Rockets and Aliens is a concept album and tells the a story of the love between an alien woman and human man.
The narrative has current day themes of terrorism, domestic violence, feminism and racism within it.

What’s happened in your career that makes you feel this is the industry for you?

What happened is that I have been a full-time counseling psychologist in Australia for the past 5 years or so!
I challenge any creature to do that job and not wanna do music – or anything else for that matter.
On a more serious note, I had a break from playing music for over 5 years and something internal told me to give it another shot.

I am now teamed up with Inbrucious Justice, a Rocket Launcher- and we make a superb team.
Also, Yoda kept on hassling me to play his 900th Birthday and who could refuse the great being!

What makes you the next great happening?

Besides my fantastic haircut and beautiful face, the music. I challenge your readers to take the Daddy BeBop humming challenge. If they can listen to a song three times in one day and not find themselves humming or singing parts of it when in the shower or doing meaningless tasks, I’ll eat my rocket-ship!

Are your currently signed to a label or have any situation in the making?

We are not signed to any label but are doing some marvellous work with the fantastic people at Musik and Film. Stephen Wrench and the Team are a wonderful bunch of people and I have not worked with any better in the industry. Musik and Film- You Rock!

Who and what are your influences?

My main influences are myself and Inbrucious Justice. Fine songwriters and ripping people to boot! Other’s include Queen,
The Beatles, Creedence, Dream Theatre, The Dixie Chicks, and Green Day.

What should people expect from your upcoming 2016 projects?

A brand new album and Daddy BeBops “Out of this World” Tour. We have set up stages all over space and will be broadcasting live from these locations. Check out DBBRL’s website daddybebop.com for details or goto the Facebook page.

Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” moment…

It has to be witnessing Darth Vader singing “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” at R2-D2’s wedding. Seeing Vader drunk and smiling will not likely happen again. Last time I bought it up with him he tried to kill me!
