TS Madison responds to Waka Flocka and dicusses new reality TV show

You are most likely acquainted with TS Madison as she has become a bona-fide internet celebrity over the last few years and most recently through her videos that she posts on her Facebook and you tube channel. The videos all average over 100k views  just after a few days. She is well-known for being a trans woman and an outspoken one at that. TS Madison is truly one of a kind she doles out tough love with compassion and empathy. Her audience is massively loyal.

I love talking to people who do extraordinary things and Miss TS Madison definitely fits that description so I talked with her by phone and she let me into her thought process and what it’s like to be a Trans celebrity in today’s world.

You’re a trail blazer for the trans community what has been the most difficult part of being a trans celebrity ?

The thing people don’t understand is that we have to transition and transition is not cheap. We have to go to school we have pay for our hormones and 9-5 does not pay you what a doctor is trying to charge you for surgeries so the hardest part is your image and I am gonna tell you some real sh*t, I don’t try to put on a facade that I am clean-cut and I know the world is watching I am gonna give you the real the raw but I know my limitations so I am mindful of how I behave but I don’t limit myself and say I can’t curse today because I am a human being and if I wanna tell someone you better watch yourself then that means I don’t care about being a public figure in that moment because I am human first so the hardest part is image. Which is just the first part…

The second part is the oppression that I receive from my own sisters. I sit back sometimes and I think oh my god . You are supposed to be my sister, why are you attacking me? It’s like why would she say this about me That’s the hard part is you want to be backed up by  the one that’s coming up against you and it’s because they don’t see a solution.  It’s the non unity.  They think I am not affected by the same struggles when in reality I am.

I see you working with Rupaul’s  WOW Network which is huge how did you come to partner with them and are you working on any new projects with them ?

The WOW Network approached me and when they did it made me sit down and think about when my star had just started to become recognized and I felt alone and I felt that no one understood. I felt under attack. They reached out to me and they said ” Madison we get it , Keep doing what you’re doing , reevaluate some of the things you are doing but you are so important”  It made me realize that I am a vessel for the community because I am vocal and I not afraid to stand on the whole-wide world.  I will tell you all about yourself and I don’t care if you or your mama like it.

So I am working on a reality TV show with them. I can’t say which network but it’s happening and I will be filming episodes soon.

When was the first moment  you realized you were The TS Madison?

I realized I was TS Madison when I saw people wanting to change after watching my videos.  I realized people valued my opinion.  I am learning on the way and when I see girls like Janet and Laverne it makes me want to back them up and give them a new point of view as well and when they started to reach out to me I realized even further that I am one of the key components because people need all forms of education. They need the ghetto girl to come and tell the truth that your baby daddy is coming to beat me up in the morning but last night he was in my bed. So I am that girl who will come and say “Girl your man is lying.”  I am not gonna give you some text-book blah blah 96% of black man are attracted to trans women, no I am gonna say girl your man is my boyfriend.

You made a video addressing the black community and how you feel they treat trans people. Your words were colorful but your message was valid. Can you tell me what brought that on?

I need these people to go back and look at their history. We couldn’t even look white people in the eye and now we are running around talking about what the bible says and we weren’t even allowed to read the bible. How dare you tell me what I can and cannot do. You have no jurisdiction here. Every thing we know right now we were taught. When we come out of the womb we learn these things.  So if you hate gays you were raised in a house where someone said “If gay person tries to touch you attack them” You were raised around someone saying the word “Fagg*t”

I just watched Waka Flocka give an interview the other day  and I want to say I like Debra but I want to be honest he said  “Evil” and I thought it is that crap that keeps us down and he has millions of fans and he is saying that and I love your mother but you don’t know me to say that that I am evil and delusional. You are not delusional at 7 yrs old. There is someone out there that is the same as you.  The truth is trans people just do not want the shadows anymore. We have been around for centuries. So when he said that, I was like we are blendable it could have been a nurse that was taking care of you after you suffered gun shot wounds from gang banging so how dare you say that. I don’t judge you so don’t judge me.  He needs to be more mindful because one day he will have to revisit those words.

I do love Deb though so it’s sad and confusing that he is saying this because we have had conversations where we related to each other as business women. We recently sat on a panel together and I am thinking of giving her a call because it hurt me.  I love who she is but I  didn’t like what he (Waka Floka ) said. He raps about guns and violence so lets really reevaluate what is hurting the community and what is evil.  How dare he as a black man say trans people are evil.

Do you think the black community will ever accept trans people ?

No. No. I do not because we are so stuck in a biblical mentality that we can’t look at people with our judgements. We don’t know anything about the bible so it will never change.

You are on a national tour tell me about that ?

I am actually on a break right now, but I will be going back out in Oct. I will be in Jacksonville and Ohio and then Virginia. I love meeting the fans and having a good ol time.

What do you think about Tyga and Kylie’s relationship?

First of all Tyga looks like a little boy, Black Chyna needs a Young Buck type of looking dude, Tyga is not a gang banger he is more like Nickelodeon so he belongs with Kylie. None of that stuff is new.

What is the next big dream for TS Madison?

My dream is to be totally done with adult entertainment even though it’s gonna always be a part of my story but it’s still my dream and  I want people to understand that your past does not define where you are going. I also want to be on scripted TV series like Mad TV or SNL or even my  host my own talk show.

I really just want to be able to be myself too. We all just want to be understood. So if being myself will help someone else stay faithful than I really am already living my dreams.
